Bell Helicopter, a Textron Inc. company, has obtained two signed agreements – the first with UK-based Avincis Group and second with the rotor-wing aircraft manufacturer’s China-based independent representative, Reignwood Investment Co. Ltd. Together, the agreements represent the purchase of up to 32 Bell helicopters.
The Avincis sale of up to 20 helicopters is comprised of the Bell 429, Bell 412, and Bell 412EPI aircraft largely for use in life and rescue operations.
Avincis Group is a provider of aerial services such as medical emergency, civil protection, search and rescue, coast and city surveillance, firefighting, and energy support services. The company operates more than 350 aircraft around the world and flew more than 50,600 emergency healthcare missions last year.
The Reignwood Investment sale includes 10 Bell 407 aircraft and two Bell 429 aircraft, which are being purchased for an unannounced private company end-user in China.
The Bell 429 light twin helicopter has a fully-integrated glass cockpit and an electronic data recorder to help increase situational awareness and safety margins. The aircraft’s cabin accommodates up to seven passengers and offers a quick change interior that can be converted from passenger to cargo service. The aircraft serves all major market segments, including air ambulance, oil and gas, utility, parapublic, and corporate.
The Bell 407's cabin holds five passengers in club seating or can be modified to accommodate a broad range of equipment. The helicopter offers an all-composite, four-bladed rotor system, a rupture-resistant fuel system, and a FADEC engine.
The Bell 412 can seat thirteen passengers and two crew members. It is certified for single pilot IFR with a Pratt & Whitney PT6T-3D Twin Pac engine. The Bell 412EPI offers upgraded engines and the Bell BasiX Pro Integrated Avionics System, which includes four 10.4" high resolution LCD primary/multi-function display units specifically designed to meet the operational requirements of twin-engine helicopters.
