BeAM Machines Inc. manufactures 3D additive manufacturing machines that use a combination of directed energy deposition (DED) and computer numeric control (CNC). DED works by feeding metallic powder through a deposition nozzle and melting it with a high-power laser to create a layer-by-layer construction with CNC controlled accuracy. The machines support a range of materials such as stainless steel, titanium, nickel alloys, and cobalt chromium to manufacture and repair parts for clients in multiple industries, including aerospace, defense, nuclear, and oil & gas.
BeAM Machines SAS opened its U.S subsidiary, BeAM Machines Inc., earlier this year. The facility, operating as the BeAM Machines Solutions Center for North America, handles sales, service, process/material development, applications, R&D, and training.
The 20,000ft2 facility houses a dedicated additive manufacturing workspace, metallurgical lab, applications training facility, assembly area, and post process machining department.
According to Tim Bell, general manager of BeAM Machines Inc., Blue Ash is centrally located to the major highways, is approximately 30 minutes to the Greater Cincinnati, Northern Kentucky International Airport, and is populated with a very high concentration of potential customers and suppliers.
