Filter Technology LLC, a leading designer and builder of high-performance metalworking filtration systems was recently chosen by Allied Machine and Engineering Corp., Dover, Ohio, to engineer and supply a central filtration system for its new expansion.
The high-capacity system, to be delivered later this year, will be capable of filtering and returning clean fluid at a rate of 2,800gpm to the company's cutter grinding machines at the Allied plant, according to Randal Armstrong, Filter Technology president.
Last year, Allied Machine and Engineering Corp., a major producer of cutting tools, announced a significant facility expansion, and the Filter Technology system is part of that major project. “We are gratified by the confidence Allied has placed in our technology,” Armstrong says.
“Capable of continuously delivering clean coolant at clarities of less than 1µ, our systems remove all of the particulate, fines and abrasives before returning the fluid back to the grinding wheel at the required pressure. The collected sludge is discharged as a dry cake for easy reclamation of carbide and valuable materials. The high capacity filtering and the ability to reclaim the materials are of particular interest to Allied,” Armstrong notes.
