Cleveland, Ohio – Aleris, a privately held supplier of aluminum and specification alloy products, has signed a multi-year agreement with Boeing to supply aluminum aerospace plate and sheet.
"This agreement represents the continuation of a long collaborative relationship between Boeing and Aleris for more than a decade," said Johan Petry, vice president, Aerospace. "We are proud to deliver Boeing technically-advanced aluminum solutions for the aerospace industry that our customers around the world have come to expect from us."
Aluminum plate and sheet products for Boeing will be supplied from its production facility in Koblenz, Germany.
Boeing and Aleris are also currently in the process of qualifying Aleris' rolling mill in Zhenjiang, China, for aircraft plate. The $350 million hot rolling mill, which Aleris introduced in April 2013, has attained AS 9100 certification.
