The Hague, Netherlands – Airborne has been awarded a contract extension with Fokker for the continued manufacturing of composite overhang panels.
Airborne is already a long-term supplier to Fokker and the contract extension is a confirmation of Airborne’s position as a valued composite parts supplier to Fokker. As airlines engage in heavy competition for lower airfare rates, the focus on affordability is particularly intense in the aerospace manufacturing supply chain.
For years, Airborne has been focusing on making composites affordable. Airborne’s successful endeavors to continuously improve its way of working enabled the company to introduce cost-cutting initiatives. To accelerate this, Airborne is intensifying its efforts to automate its composite process and make separate units ready for market soon. Airborne is convinced automation for affordability is necessary to allow composites into a broader range of applications.
