The fastest growing market for electronics and associated wiring is Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) or Drones. Although used mainly for military applications there are potentially larger markets in civil and commercial applications. Drones range in size from a shoe box to a Boeing 737 and cost at hobby shops of a few hundred dollars to the large sophisticated vehicles of today costing up to $30 million or more.
The U.S. Government continues to pour money into vehicles and subsystems in applications such as Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR). The markets outside the US and into other applications represent enormous potential growth for subsystems, components, and other equipment and services.
The U.S. Government has decided to build its future Defense strategy around drones and quick reaction special operational forces. Other countries are expected to follow suit.
