Alliance, which is home to Lockheed Martin, DynCorp, and Bell Helicopter, teamed up with Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University to bring aerospace manufacturers and service providers together to discuss the global aviation and aerospace marketplace.
During the four-day conference, called the Aviation & Aerospace Industry Manufacturing Summit, panels will be held on the restructuring of the U.S. Department of Defense, forecasts of air travel and cargo demand and trends in aerospace research and development.
Bell Helicopter chief executive John Garrison and Hillwood chairman Ross Perot Jr. are part of the lineup of featured speakers during the summit which runs from Oct. 7 to 10.
“The lingering effects of the recession and financial crisis, increased global competition and ongoing geopolitical events have presented unprecedented challenges for the aerospace industry, but the aviation and aerospace industry also has many bright spots," says Robert Mansfield, executive director of the Center for Aviation and Aerospace Leadership. "AAIMS 2012 will put these challenges and opportunities in perspective and provide insights for aerospace manufacturers and service providers to prosper."
