Rolls-Royce officials say the project will create 35 new jobs. Currently, Rolls-Royce employs 45 workers at the Stennis Space Center.
Rolls-Royce's first jet engine testing facility at Stennis Space Center opened in 2007. The Reston, VA-based company also owns a foundry in Pascagoula that manufactures Navy and commercial ship propellers.
The new jet engine test facility is designed to support specialist engine testing and will be used to conduct research, development, crosswind, thrust reverse, cyclic and endurance tests on all Rolls-Royce Civil Aerospace engines.
