In a recent speech, Stanton outlined policy priorities that spanned across national, global, regional, and city initiatives that aim to do more than shape just the future of Phoenix but promote a better-educated region with high-wage jobs and a booming green economy.
Stanton announced he would lead a national task force of mayors that will work to prevent cuts in military spending that could hurt Arizona jobs.
Stanton said he is working with U.S. Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., on the effort.
"Arizona's economy and our nation's security face a serious threat from the federal government's failure to deal with looming, indiscriminate cuts to Pentagon programs," says Stanton.
