IAE International Aero Engines has received a contract from BOC Aviation to supply V2500 engines for the airline's 25 A320 family aircraft, ordered from Airbus.
The V2500 SelectOne build standard engine delivers an additional 1% fuel burn advantage and a corresponding reduction in carbon dioxide emissions.
The engine also improves time-on-wing by 20% and complies with all applicable Committee on Aviation Environmental Protection emissions standards.
The V2500 is available in seven thrust settings, from 22,000lb to 33,000lb, and can power the Airbus A319, A320 and A321 family of aircraft as well as the Airbus Corporate Jetliner.
BOC Aviation expects to begin receiving the 25 new aircraft from 2012 onwards.
