City officials in Loveland, Colorado, are working out a deal with NASA that could bring up to 10,000 jobs to Colorado.
Negotiations are in full swing to attract the the Aerospace and Clean Energy Manufacturing and Innovation Park to the city.
A vacant set of buildings that used to house Agilent Technologies is the frontrunner for the location.
The Denver Channel reports that the Colorado Association of Manufacturing for Technology chose the Agilent campus as its main choice for its locations.
Opportunities that could crop up include scientific, assembly, and engineering jobs. Up to 100 companies could move in to the campus. The jobs are expected to be spread out over a five year period.
The deal would also offer local universities and other research facilities an opportunity to develop technologies for the federal government.
To complete the deal, the city must purchase the land from Agilent and agree to terms with CAMT.
Mayor Cecil Gutierrez said, ”This is incredible potential for Loveland and Northern Colorado.”
