Brilex Raises Quality Standards

Brilex Industries, Inc. makes significant investments in state-of-the-art technology, in order to ensure high quality products to their growing clientele.

“The ability to measure complex geometry, in a quick and accurate fashion, anywhere on the shop floor, makes this technology far superior to having a CMM,” says Brian Benyo, President of Brilex Industries Inc. “With FARO?s user friendly technology, we are able to validate results during the manufacturing process, make adjustments and know that dimensional part requirements are met on the machine tool or at the fitting table. Having this ability is a total game changer.”

Brilex Industries enhanced their capabilities with the purchase of the FaroArm and FARO Laser Tracker ION measurement equipment. The FARO equipment enables Brilex Industries to, accurately and efficiently, measure complex and very large items that they, without the equipment, were previously unable to easily identify.

“The most significant advantage of a Laser tracker versus a conventional laser measurement system is the ability to establish datum points on the work piece being evaluated and „leap-frog? the Tracker around the work piece,” says Robert Walters, director of Quality at Brilex. “Doing this allows the user to measure relationships between features that would otherwise not be possible.”

Walters also said that the equipment has improved speed and accuracy of measurement over greater distances. FARO?s experts provided extensive training to Brilex?s quality control technicians who have learned the proper techniques and knowledge to fully utilize the capabilities of the FARO equipment.

“The additions of the Laser Tracker, and the upgrade of the FAROArm and CAM2Q software, are just a few examples of how Brilex continually makes investments in technology and resources to be best in class,” Walters says.
