TIMCO Aviation Services, one of the largest independent maintenance, repair and overhaul (“MRO”) providers in the world, celebrated its 20th anniversary of the company’s founding. The company opened its operations at its current Greensboro, NC headquarters location in October of 1990 with a single hangar.
Twenty years later, there are now four large, sate-of-the-art hangars at the Greensboro location, supported by multi-hangar base maintenance operations in Lake City, Florida and in Macon, Georgia. The company has also become an internationally recognized leader in aircraft interiors design, engineering and manufacturing; certification services; line maintenance and engine MRO. Both the growth and recognition of the company has continued to climb through the current economically challenging times, as evidenced by the fact that the company recently announced plans for expanding fleet capabilities at its Macon facility and also announced its plans to develop a new facility for the manufacture of galleys, passenger seats and aircraft lavatories in North Carolina.
Representative Howard Coble, 6th District of North Carolina, said, “I have visited TIMCO on numerous occasions, and each time I have visited, I have been favorably impressed. TIMCO is clearly one of our corporate giants in North Carolina. I look forward to celebrating TIMCO’s first 20 years, and I look forward to an even brighter TIMCO future.”
Ron Utecht, TIMCO Co-CEO stated, “The rate of transformation from a single hanger operation to the internationally renowned aerospace MRO and interiors development company TIMCO has become is a true success story, both for the industry and for all of us that have been fortunate enough to be involved in its operation.” Kevin Carter, TIMCO Co-CEO added, “We’re celebrating our twentieth anniversary with an eye toward the future. We’re constantly looking for new ways to increase the efficiency and safety of the aviation industry, and we’re confident that our long-term investments in the future of aviation will pay great dividends to the industry, the company and our valued employees."
