The TenCate Advanced Composites Group in Morgan Hill, CA, has reached a long-term supply agreement with the Boeing Company. This five-year contract extension culminates a multi-year initial design and build effort on compression molded hydraulic and fuel line clamp assemblies for the Boeing 787 Dreamliner.
Besides these components, TenCate also delivers composite materials for other applications – including TenCate Cetex – for the Boeing 787.
The hydraulic and fuel line assemblies will be supplied directly to Boeing and other Tier 1 subcontractors. Annual sales on the five-year contract extension will vary depending on the build rate of the Boeing 787 program. The thermoset clamp assemblies are used to secure hydraulic and fuel lines running through the wing. These clamp assemblies are an integral part of the fuel and hydraulic systems on the Boeing 787 Dreamliner.
Paul Draghi, Vice President of Operations at TenCate Advanced Composites USA states: ‘We have worked closely with Boeing to ensure that TenCate is well-positioned to support this key business from a capacity and delivery perspective. This contract extension recognizes the hard work and technical success attained since the program inception in 2006. This program is an example of how TenCate combines tool design, tool fabrication, and part production to provide a cost-effective solution to our customer. We are excited to continue our partnership with the Boeing Company on compression-molded products for the Boeing 787 Dreamliner and other Boeing aircraft’.
