Sargent to Expand Aftermarket Services

New Production Introduction department enables more aviation repair capabilities

Sargent Aerospace & Defense, a leading supplier of precision engineered components and aftermarket services, and an operating company within Dover Corporation’s Industrial Products Segment, released information regarding the formation of a New Product Introduction (NPI) department to identify and manage emerging aircraft repair opportunities.

“The creation of Sargent’s New Product Introduction department is the latest tangible commitment we’ve made to leverage our engineering expertise as a trusted original equipment manufacturer to grow our Aftermarket Services business,” said Scott Still, president, Sargent Aerospace & Defense.

Since the NPI initiative was launched a few months ago, the department has already added more than 60 new repair capabilities to Sargent Aftermarket Services, benefitting at least ten launch customers. Additional capabilities continue to be added at the rate of six to ten per month, including component repairs for Airbus A320, Boeing 737NG and 777 aircraft families.

Kevin Connelly, vice president of aftermarket services, noted, “As operators of newer Airbus, Boeing and other aircraft require additional maintenance, repair and overhaul services, Sargent will be there to understand their needs and expand our portfolio of capabilities.”

Thanks to ongoing investment and modern facilities in Miami, Florida and Franklin, Indiana (each certified by the FAA, EASA and CAAC of China), the company is able to repair more than 28,000 components, offer inventory and asset management solutions, and provide a rotable pool of components, line-replaceable units and high-value systems. This business model is ideal for low-cost carriers and other airlines that generally outsource aircraft repair, rather than maintain such capabilities in-house.
