During the event, Makino is going to offer several sessions with its Global Titanium R&D engineers and guest presenters, and also is slated to reveal its new T2 5-axis horizontal machining center, purpose-built for high-efficiency titanium machining.
Presentations from Makino’s Global Titanium R&D engineers are planned to detail Makino’s new T2 titanium machining center and the latest titanium process engineering research. Topics include temperatures in the titanium cutting zone, 5-axis roughing and contouring, titanium ADVANTiGE processes, as well as a live Q&A with Makino’s titanium process panel.
Additional guest presentations will be delivered by Dr. Tony Schmitz of the University of Florida, Mark Francis of Kennametal and John Palmer of ATI Metals and plan to cover a variety of topics, including process damping, highly efficient machining for titanium aerospace structures and efficient machining solutions in titanium alloys.
Through a series of live cutting demonstrations, Makino will also showcase the new T2 machining center, which delivers the rigidity, dynamic stiffness, vibration damping and agility required for more productive titanium machining and longer tool life. Additional titanium machining demonstrations are to be performed on a Makino T4 5-axis horizontal machining center and a81M horizontal machining center.
The Ti2 Day event will be held at 7680 Innovation Way, Mason, OH, 45040. The building is 1.5 miles from I-71 off Western Row Road. It is 38 miles from the Cincinnati-Northern Kentucky International Airport and 50 miles from the Dayton International Airport.
