Lockheed Martin Receives $60M Contract

Defense contractor Lockheed Martin has received a $60 million contract from the Army to provide a night vision sensor for Apache attack helicopters.

The follow-on pact includes 23 Arrowhead night vision sensor kits for the National Guard, plus U.S. Government and Foreign Military Sales spares and support. The kits will help upgrade infrared sensors and related electronics.

There is also the option for up to 46 systems and spares for the Army and an undisclosed foreign military customer.

The total contract could be worth up to approximately $290 million if all options are used. The agreement extends production through August 2013 for the base of the contract, and through January 2015 if all of the options are awarded.

Last week Lockheed Martin won two regional orders for a combined $72 million to help the U.S. government set up new passenger-screening equipment at about 300 airports.
