The AS9100 quality management system supplements ISO 9001:2008 with additional requirements that assure components are manufactured using processes that meet aerospace and defense industry standards.
AS9100 additions to the ISO 9001:2008 quality management system include risk analysis, tighter control of subcontractors, non-conforming product, purchased product verification, manufacturing processes and preservation of product.
According to Brett Hardman, director of sales and marketing at H&H Swiss, “The AS9100 certification establishes a benchmark for all manufacturers of components in the supply chain for the aerospace, aircraft and defense industries. This certification shows H&H Swiss’ commitment to produce component parts that meet more stringent quality and traceability requirements. Even if a company does not service the aerospace and defense industries, isn’t it reassuring to know that the underlying quality management system of H&H Swiss exceeds the ISO 9001 mandates?”
