Hamilton and AVIC Electromechanical Systems Co. Ltd. will co-develop the power systems, pilot controls and fire and overheat protection systems for the 150-seat C919 passenger jet.
Hamilton pegged the combined value of these awards at more than $1.5 billion in sales over the program's life. Details of the planned partnership first emerged last November.
The joint venture will be located in Xi'an, in east central China, and plans are in place to begin facility development in June, Hamilton said.
Hamilton is a division of United Technologies Corp. in Hartford. AVIC EM is a subsidiary of Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC).
