The 2010 Frost & Sullivan Asia Pacific Aerospace & Defense Awards continues to showcase highly commendable line-up of recipients for the third consecutive year. Recipients sharing the lime-light this year have had to battle and prove themselves in an even more challenging period than their counterparts from the previous years.
A specialty this year is the co-location of the Awards banquet with the Singapore Airshow 2010 where Frost & Sullivan is the knowledge partner. The Awards banquet will be held on February 4, 2010 at Crowne Plaza Hotel at Terminal 3, Changi International Airport.
A total of 17 leading organizations in the fields of general aviation, defense, homeland security, maintenance repair and overhaul (MRO), aerospace manufacturing, major support services, airports and commercial air transportation will be joining the hall of fame as they bag prestigious titles reflecting their success for the year 2009.
The Malaysia Airports clinched two award titles that cited them as the Airport Investment Company of the Year and the Airport of the Year (Above 15 million Passengers Annually) for Kuala Lumpur International Airport. Composites Technology Research Malaysia and Firefly joined in the honour roll to pride the nation's outstanding aerospace industry, with their awards.
Speaking about the success of the recipients, Subhranshu Sekhar Das, Director of Asia Pacific Aerospace & Defense practice at Frost & Sullivan says, "To counter the downturn in the aviation sector, the entire industry, especially the Asian players, have turned their focus on implementing best practices within their operations. Such smart executions have helped Asian aviation players successfully align their processes alongside the best global standards. This has in turn driven the corporate growth of these organizations and their respective operating sectors, despite the historic downturn. The improved operational and supply chain efficiency coupled with the steady turnaround of the Asian giants has attracted the attention of multinational players and has positively impacted the global aviation landscape. "
The Frost & Sullivan Awards are presented to companies that demonstrate best practices in the industry, commending their diligence, commitment, and innovative business strategies required to advance and excel in the competitive global marketplace.
Every year, the awards are given to companies based on actual market and technology performance that include revenue, market share, technology leadership and overall growth.
In addition to the tough market that the recipients were already operating in, this year the challenge to excel was further intensified with a global survey that served as a complementing screening in addition to the usual in-house secondary research.
