DP Technology: Help us Help Japan

When business becomes personal, the hardships of your partners, however distant they may be, are much more than headlines on the six o'clock news.

Such is the case with DP Technology's business partners in Japan, many of whom have been deeply affected by the recent earthquake and ensuing tsunami.

"In light of the recent catastrophe, we have a sense of responsibility toward helping our Japanese friends," says Paul Ricard, president of DP Technology. "We have a lot of partners, resellers and customers in Japan and we are thinking of them now."

In a show of support, DP Technology has made a donation to the Red Cross and is urging the ESPRIT community to consider doing the same.

Ricard visits Japan three or four times annually, while DP CEO Dan Frayssinet visits the country about once a month.

Ricard vividly recalls a recent trip to Sendai, a city of more than a million inhabitants that was deeply affected by the earthquake, where he visited a number of ESPRIT customers and partners.

"They were the first thing I thought of when I heard about the tragedy," Ricard says. "I hope that they and their families are safe and that life will quickly return to normal — as much as it can be normal again."
