DE-STA-CO, a worldwide leader in robotic tooling, workholding and flexible industrial automation solutions, announced the release of a new Electric Parallel Gripper that incorporates the economy and simplicity of brushed motor technology without sacrificing durability.
The DPE Series Electric Parallel Gripper is designed for any application currently using pneumatic grippers. The DPE Series requires no programming, tuning or adjusting on site—it is truly “plug and play” technology. The simple “light switch” operation requires only a 24 VDC power supply. And even with its 100-percent duty cycle, the new gripper generates very little heat.
Durability is another benefit of the new DPE Series Electric Parallel Gripper. Because of its simple design, it requires no maintenance—ever. It has the lowest cost of ownership when compared to either pneumatic grippers or other electric models. And its rugged rack-and-pinion synchronization and drive are designed to achieve a 25-million-parts grip life.
The DPE Series Electric Parallel Gripper can handle up to 120 parts per minute and can achieve grip force of 20 lb (90N). The fully sealed motor housing protects against contaminants and moisture in the toughest applications.
The new DPE Series Electric Parallel Gripper is fast, energy efficient, and its lightweight, compact design makes it ideal for use in crowded assembly or laboratory settings.
