Following extensive customer consultation, Sandvik Coromant will release two new catalogs on March 1, 2011. The launch of the concept will provide machine operators, purchasers and production engineers/managers with a complete global product range, containing both metric and inch assortments. This will meet the demand from an increasing number of manufacturers who operate multi-nationally and require access to both systems of measurement, while expanding the choice of tooling with intermediate sizes as well.
In addition, the main catalog will now be divided into two parts: one for general turning including parting, grooving and threading operations, and the other for rotating tool applications including milling, drilling and boring. This approach will provide extended sections that will include technical information to help optimize product application. Each section carries information about the associated tool holding systems.
For those who wish to receive this information electronically, there is a digital version on DVD that goes one-step further with integrated content, where the new main catalog(s), technical guide, new product brochure and catalogs for deep hole drilling and heavy machining are included. The DVD interactively links movies, animations and additional support to the required area of interest.
The launch of the catalogs coincides with the release of the 11.1 CoroPak range of new products. An overview is provided in the brochure, New Cutting Tools and Solutions, to easily identify these products. Customers can then follow the page references to the appropriate section in the main catalog.
The new catalogs will be available for download from the Sandvik Coromant website in several languages, including a version for the iPad from March 1st. Visit www.sandvik.coromant.com/us and select ’Online Catalogs’.
