“With a modern, state-of-the-art facility, Chromalloy continues on a path of delivering outstanding service to our customers now and in the future,” says Armand F. Lauzon, Jr., president. “We now offer additional capabilities under a single roof to serve a wide range of commercial and military aircraft operators and industrial and aero-derivative operators.”
Ruben Barrales, president, San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce, says, “We are pleased to have partnered with Chromalloy during the renovation of this operation and will continue to support future success.”
The expanded and remodeled engine center now provides turbine parts repairs and overhaul, leasing services, workscope management, and module refurbishment. The 110,000ft2 facility also has the only engine test cell on the U.S. West Coast providing monitoring and evaluation for JT8D engines.
The facility now houses all capabilities from the company’s El Cajon, CA, service center into the newer San Diego facility, which is located next to the Marine Corps Air Station Miramar. During the last several months Chromalloy moved work and equipment from El Cajon into the newer San Diego facility where it also operated a turbine service center.
Additional equipment was purchased and installed. The company invested approximately $1 million to renovate, equip and modernize the service center. Employees from both facilities now work at the San Diego campus.
Chromalloy is the world’s largest independent supplier of technologically advanced repairs, coatings, and FAA-approved replacement parts for turbine airfoils and other critical engine components for commercial airlines, the military and industrial turbine engine applications, Chromalloy counts as its customers many of the world’s major airlines.
In addition, the company provides industrial turbine operators including electrical utilities and offshore platform operators with gas turbine engine parts, coatings and advanced repairs.
