Altair 2012 Americas HyperWorks Technology Conference

Veteran astronaut T.K. Mattingly will deliver one of the event's most anticipated keynote addresses, followed by several aerospace-focused sessions that will concentrate on industry-wide advanced technology application.

As one of the premier product lifecycle management (PLM) events for the advanced manufacturing community, HTC2012 will be held May 15-17 at the Detroit Marriott at the Renaissance Center and is expected to draw more than 600 professionals, many from the aerospace industry's leading manufacturers.

The conference will commence with insights from T.K. Mattingly, veteran Apollo program and shuttle astronaut, who will present the first keynote address and provide attendees a glimpse into the progress that advancements in simulation have sparked in aerospace.

Concept design optimization, lightweighting and composites

Parts optimization for use in ambient and cryogenic conditions

Benefits and best practices learned through the establishment of onsite optimization centers

Finite-element modeling and crash testing for performance and design insights

Energy-absorption design for reducing safety-device-related injuries in crash conditions
