“Our information technology should be as advanced, intuitive and productivity-driven as our cutting tool technology,” says Perry Osburn, president, IMCO, who oversaw the project from concept to completion.
The site (www.imcousa.com) is maximized for user-friendly navigation. Organized by machining type (milling, holemaking, deburring, etc.), visitors can sort cutting tools by tool family, application or end type, whatever works best for them. Burs are categorized by head shape or cut style, focusing product choices on the user’s need.
The site also offers password-protected access to a distributors-only area for online ordering, real-time inventory checks, order tracking and more. Sales Manager Tim Elfreich said the new e-commerce capabilities will open many new service opportunities for IMCO distributors.
“The pace of business today is incredibly fast, and shops have to keep production schedules flexible. With this e-commerce site, our distributors have the flexibility to be more responsive to those shifting needs with 24/7 access to real-time information.”
Downloadable catalogs remain available on the new site, as well as customer profiles, product videos, tool tips and contact information for requesting a Free Tool Test.
