The Air Transportation Center for Excellence, which focuses on general aviation issues such as safety and airport technology, has selected Purdue University, Ohio State University, and the Georgia Institute of Technology to lead the effort, along with from the Florida Institute of Technology, Iowa State, and Texas A&M.
The FAA will invest at least $500,000 a year during the first five years of a decade agreement. This will continue a similar decade cost-sharing program with industry and academia that originated in 2001.
