Boeing has completed all the flight tests required for the US Federal Aviation Administration type certification of the 787-8 Dreamliner.
The certification cleared the way for the aircraft's first delivery to All Nippon Airways of Japan.
The Dreamliner, powered by Rolls-Royce engines, is a lightweight airplane that promises a 20% fuel saving over similar jets as the structure is made of lighter composite materials.
The Boeing 787 Dreamliner offers larger windows, cleaner air, higher humidity and a lower cabin altitude.
