Aero-Instruments to Supply Sensors to COMAC C919's

Aero-Instruments, one of the most trusted names in the design and manufacture of Air Data Sensors, today announced that it has been selected to supply Honeywell Aerospace with Air Data Sensors for the COMAC C919 commercial airliner.

The COMAC C919 family of aircraft is a series of 168- to 190-seat narrow-body airliners to be built in China by the Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (COMAC). The COMAC C919 will be the largest commercial airliner designed and built in China.

Aero-Instruments will support the C919 program in all of its phases and all models of the C919 Aircraft family, which has an anticipated volume of 2,500 aircraft. Aero-Instruments plans to design, manufacture and assemble the Air Data Sensors at its Cleveland, Ohio facilities.

“Aero-Instruments is very pleased to be selected to provide Air Data Sensors for the C919 family of aircraft,” said Dan Pappano, President of Aero-Instruments. “Following a rigorous selection process, we are delighted to play a role as a supplier to this very important, growing segment of the aerospace market. This agreement expands our global OEM customer base to now include China.”

Pappano said, “For more than 80 years, we have continuously worked to provide our customers with a technologically superior product, delivered on time and meeting the highest quality standards. Our products are flying on tens of thousands of aircraft worldwide because we are able to provide standard or unique components for virtually every aircraft application.”

Aero-Instruments Air Data Sensors measure critical air data parameters and provide information for cockpit display and to the flight control and flight management systems.

In addition to offering Air Data Sensors for the large commercial transport market, Aero-Instruments also manufacture Air data Sensors for the general aviation, rotorcraft, defense, business jet and Unmanned Aerial Vehicle markets.
