Absolute Machine Tools Inc., Lorain, Ohio, a distributor of a wide selection of CNC machine tools and related products, has achieved Authorized Integrator status with Fanuc Robotics America Inc., Rochester Hills, Mich. This partnership with the leading supplier of robotic automation reinforces Absolute’s efforts to help its customers reduce manufacturing costs, boost competitiveness, and ultimately improve revenues.
Through its comprehensive product offering and application engineering expertise, Absolute provides turnkey, production-specific machining systems. The relationship with Fanuc Robotics enables Absolute to enhance those systems with robots that handle payloads from 0.5kg to 1,350kg, as well as simulation packages, application software, force sensing, and infrared vision systems.
Robotic automation technology addresses the issues of increasing labor wage and benefit costs as well as the need to maintain production in the face of a shrinking manufacturing workforce. The labor-related savings enable employers to cope with major costs generated by government mandates such as the Health Care Reform Act and taxes including Social Security and Medicare contribution requirements.
Robotic systems also drive productivity improvements that can permit manufacturers to cost-efficiently handle work in-house that previously was sent offshore to reduce labor expense.
Steve Ortner, President of Absolute Machine Tools said, “Becoming an authorized Fanuc Robotics integrator carries on our company’s 25-year tradition of continually improving services and offering the latest technology to our customers.”
