The A330-200F, powered by Rolls-Royce Trent 700 engines, can fly up to 4,000nm and will be fitted with a full courier section with seating for six people, a small galley and crew rest area.
The freighter, based on the A330 platform, features an optimised fuselage cross-section that can accommodate various types of pallet and container sizes and offers 30% more volume than other freighters in its class.
The development tasks for this aircraft will focus on equipment, furnishings, and complementary systems tests on communication, power distribution, air conditioning, smoke detection, oxygen, water and waste.
The aircraft model is due for certification in mid-March 2010, which will be followed by its first delivery to Etihad Crystal Cargo.
