August 2024 winner:
Christopher Ruper, Sr. Project Engineer, Ingersoll Cutting Tools, Rockford, Illinois
How long have you been in the aerospace business? Eight years.
How did you become interested in aircraft? I have been interested in all things mechanical since I was young, starting with time spent in the garage with my father. Aviation in general is fascinating with all the components and detail involved.
What is your favorite aircraft and why? The North American Aviation XB-70 Valkyrie. It caught my attention during my first visit to the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force. I’m always amazed at the shape, size, and speed of the plane.
Runners-up:
Dave Thompson, Mechanical Systems/ Project Designer, ATI Forged Products, Cudahy, Wisconsin
Phillip D’Andrea, Avionics Simulation, Software Engineer, Collins Aerospace, Binghampton, New York
