Virserum, Sweden – Modig Machine Tool has signed a multi-year agreement with Seco Tools for development of next-generation machine tools. Modig President David Modig said “Our customers are asking for faster machines with higher chip removal rates. Harnessing Seco’s highly specialized cutting tool competence will accelerate our ability to meet these challenges. With their assistance in prototype testing, we are confident we will exceed customer expectations with our next product release, the RigiMill, and beyond.
Modig’s technology, optimized for the aircraft industry, is recognized for the high quality of production coupled with dramatic reductions in component manufacture time, resulting in lower unit costs and significantly improved margins. Founded in 1948 and focusing on the aircraft industry since 1988, Modig has continuously enhanced its reputation through its HHV extrusion mill and six-axis FlexiMill.
Seco is a global supplier of metal cutting solutions with its head office in Fagersta, Sweden. Employing more than 5,000 persons worldwide, it has presence in more than 50 countries.
