The hyperMILL 2025 CAD/CAM software suite offers several new and enhanced features. A 5-axis automatic tool orientation mode enables efficient, reliable tool paths for complex components. The algorithm uses a pre-analysis of the entire tool path to calculate machining sequences of simultaneous and indexed tool movements, reducing the inputs required for 5-axis machining and saving time when programming challenging parts.

A 5-axis hole deburring strategy is now available for deburring sharp edges on holes and intersecting holes. By using CAM Plan programming assistance and analysis technology to automatically recognize all the holes, the sharp edges in the model are marked for selecting the desired edges. The technology automatically calculates tool paths and supports 3-axis and 5-axis modes. An additional 5-axis deburring strategy offers efficient deburring of component edges.

The pocket milling algorithm for high feed cutters has been redeveloped for 3D-optimized roughing, achieving greater efficiency during roughing as well as better machining control, especially helpful when machining large lateral in-feeds and remaining material. Contour and path radii can also be defined, resulting in improved toolpath rounding.

Linking movements via hyperMILL VIRTUAL Machining Optimizer have been further optimized for actual stock conditions with new Dynamic Stock technology, which automatically generates updated stock for all machining jobs and accounts for it when calculating linking movements.

User-friendly CT system

The VOXLS 20 C 225 X-ray CT system is compact at 2,451mm x 1,173mm but with a large inspection volume of 555mm x 759mm, allowing for flexible integration into almost any quality control laboratories and production environments. It features a motorized dual-source setup with a 225kV reflection target and 160kV transmission target, allowing users to easily choose the optimal source for their application. This enables automated and fast switchover between the reflection target (for higher productivity due to increased X-ray flux) and transmission target (for achieving the best possible resolution).

The system supports several advanced scan modes including Panel Shift CT, Tilted CT, and Pixel Split CT, enabling a wide range of inspection techniques for diverse applications. It offers several user-friendly features such as Filter Changer, a motorized door that opens in less than four seconds, and a large viewing window for interior visibility. A source optimization feature de-skills filament setup, simplifies the filament change process, and provides longer filament lifetime.

Tooling columns for horizontal machining

Customizable, cast iron tooling columns now offer Ball Lock and QLS top tool mounting systems for a wider range of horizontal machining with quick change for large and small vises. Ball Lock increases capability with larger production vises and plate work, while QLS is suited for smaller solutions such as OK Vise and 5CV self-centering vises. Columns can be mounted via direct mounting or zero point system (ZPS), offering quick change for the entire setup.

New column styles include square, cross, and rectangular. The square and cross styles are well suited for high density multi-part fixtures or incorporating multiple operations into a single column. The cross style increases spindle access near the column, eliminating the need for extra-long tools. The larger upright faces of the rectangular columns are suitable for applications involving larger workpieces.

The tooling columns are customizable as well as easily integrated into full custom design and build projects. The single piece, stress-relieved class 40 cast iron construction is engineered for maximum rigidity applications. These columns increase horizontal machining potential and provide a solid basis for custom workholding to suit specific customer needs.
