GKN Powder Metallurgy sells Forecast 3D to ADDMAN Engineering

Forecast 3D, a division of GKN Powder Metallurgy and manufacturer of complex polymer components, has been acquired by ADDMAN Engineering LLC, a portfolio company of private equity firm American Industrial Partners (AIP). Angle Advisors acted as investment banking advisor to GKN Powder Metallurgy in completing the transaction.

Headquartered in Carlsbad, California, Forecast 3D (F3D) is a 30-year veteran in additive manufacturing (AM). F3D offers a full range of services spanning engineering and design, 3D printing, and machining. Its manufacturing capabilities include multi jet fusion, selective laser sintering, fused deposition modeling, and urethane casting.

Established in 2021 by AIP, ADDMAN is a U.S.-based advanced manufacturing company integrating metal and polymer AM, precision machining, injection molding, and engineering services from prototyping through full-scale production.

Following the acquisition of F3D, ADDMAN’s industrial additive fleet now exceeds 160 systems, eight locations nationwide, and more than 550 employees.

Velo3D develops AM fuel tank for Momentus space vehicle

Momentus Inc., a U.S. commercial space company offering in-space transportation and infrastructure services, has developed an additively manufactured fuel tank in collaboration with advanced metal additive manufacturing (AM) technology provider Velo3D. The fuel tank will perform flight testing aboard Momentus’ Vigoride-7 orbital service vehicle.

Momentus designed the tank with optimized features difficult or impossible to achieve with traditional manufacturing.

“This successful demonstration paves the way for broader adoption across our future missions,” says John Rood, Momentus’ CEO.

“Momentus is pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in space transportation, and we’re proud to support their vision with our technology,” adds Arun Jeldi, CEO of Velo3D. https://momentus.space; https://velo3d.com

Landing Zone: Global Advanced Manufacturing Market Entry Lab

YBI Engine Tech Incubator, in partnership with America Makes and the Youngstown Innovation Hub for Aerospace & Defense, has launched Landing Zone, a free 9-week virtual course designed to help manufacturing innovators enter the U.S. market.

Running May 5 to July 2, 2026, with virtual meetings held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:45AM to 9:00AM ET, the program is open to all domestic and international applicants.

“There are three main reasons YBI Engine stands out and why you should apply to Landing Zone. First, free education from Dr. Scott Shane, a distinguished professor at Case Western Reserve University. Second, YBI Engine is the premier deep-tech advanced manufacturing incubator in the United States. Third, top performers can join our portfolio, gaining access to more than 200,000ft2 of manufacturing space alongside companies such as Ursa Major and JuggerBot 3D,” says Chandler Fiffick, senior director of YBI Engine.

Applicants must be able to participate in all virtual sessions. Fluent English is required for participation. Participants must commit to pre- and post-course surveys. https://ybi.org/programs/engine/landing-zone/
