C6 Composites opens factory in Roseville, Minnesota

Carbon composite materials company brings manufacturing jobs back to the U.S.

Roseville, Minnesota – C6 Composites LLC will design, test, and manufacture state-of-the-art carbon composite materials at its parent company Epoch Lacrosse’s 10,000ft2 facility in Roseville, Minnesota.

“Roseville, Minnesota, is the ideal location for our company,” says Charlie Igo, C6 Composites manufacturing engineer. “The Midwest provides us with access to an abundance of suppliers, materials not available outside of the U.S., and engineers who have a vast amount of composite materials experience. Also, the talent level of skilled workers in the area is a great asset for C6.”

The global carbon fiber market size is projected to reach $3.51 billion by 2020, according to a report by research firm Markets and Markets. This growth is fueled by the increasing production capacities of the aerospace industry, rising demand of fuel-efficient vehicles, and the growing application of carbon fiber in applications such as sporting goods.

“Being able to control the design, development, engineering, and manufacturing process here in the United States gives Epoch a major market advantage,” says Jason Daniel, C6 Composites product engineer.

“Our turnaround time from prototype to finished product is just a matter of days, if not hours,” Daniel adds. “We look at everything down to a microscopic level, from the makeup of the fibers to the resins and the angles used in the layup process of the carbon fiber. We have very high quality control standards and our products are tested to the most stringent of quality and performance standards.”

"C6 is a major step for us in the growth of our company,” says James Miceli, founder and Principal of Epoch Lacrosse and C6 Composites LLC. “We hope that we can serve as a catalyst for innovation in the manufacturing of composite products and encourage other companies to bring their manufacturing back to U.S. shores.”
