Redditch, U.K. – GKN Aerospace has gained contract extensions covering the supply of titanium machined parts for Boeing 737 and 777 aircraft, worth more than $70 million. The agreements with Spirit AeroSystems Inc. extend and expand the company’s existing work on these programs.
GKN Aerospace has been successfully supplying titanium machined parts to Spirit AeroSystems for these programs for more than a decade. Products include cockpit window frames for both airframes and seat tracks for the 777. Fabrication of all items will continue to be performed at GKN Aerospace’s Advanced Machined Structures (AMS) facility in Wellington, Kansas.
Brian DeCamp, VP and General Manager of the GKN Aerospace-AMS commented: “We believe the continuation and growth of our production involvement in these programs is clear evidence of the quality and consistency of the service we are delivering – and of the strength of our working relationship with Spirit. We recognize and appreciate the continued confidence that Spirit has demonstrated in our team in placing these contract extensions with us.”
