Montréal – Bombardier’s Challenger 650aircraft has received full type certification from the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).
“Our Challenger 650 aircraft successfully entered into service in 2015 and is now about to make its European debut in 2016. Demand for this aircraft is strong around the world and with certification now in-hand, we are eager for EASA-registered customers to experience this brand new jet,” said David Coleal, president, Bombardier Business Aircraft.
Challenger 600 Series jets are the most delivered medium category aircraft of all time in Europe, and account for the largest installed base in its segment in the region.
In 2015, Bombardier Business Aircraft was the market share leader in terms of installed base and deliveries in Europe, in the segments where it competes.
The new Challenger 650 cabin features a redesigned galley and seats as well as an advanced cabin management system – including HD monitors; Audio Video on Demand, and Bluetooth integration.
The Challenger 650 aircraft’s enhanced engines offer greater thrust, which enable shorter take-off distance, extra payload capacity or greater range capabilities out of challenging airports. With a 4,000nm (7,408km) range, the Challenger 650 business jet can connect London to New York, Dubai to London, or Sao Paulo to Miami, under certain operating conditions.
In the fiscal year ended Dec. 31, 2015, Bombardier posted revenues of $18.2 billion.
