Model 9000 series 8-axis CNC tool, cutter grinders
Ferndale, Michigan – Unison Corp. will be demonstrating one of its new Model 9000 series 8-axis CNC tool and cutter grinders at IMTS in their booth #N-6648. Model 9000 grinders feature a 27hp (20kW) direct drive grinding spindle which can manufacture ultraprecise medical tools and components as well as drills, endmills and reamers used in the aerospace industry. These grinders are equipped with Yaskawa AC drive amplifiers as well as an automatic pick-n-place parts loader/unloader for continuous grinding of parts. The 9000 series uses a precise probe assembly to guarantee repeatability of parts and can be equipped with an on-board electric wheel dressing system.
The Model 9000 series features Unison's EZ Software allowing the machine's operator to quickly customize and/or modify tool geometry with a user friendly interface by merely filling in blanks and then verifying the part program by using the machine's real-time 3D Parts Predictor. Each machine is supplied with a complete software package and library of tool programs. The computer control monitors critical machine functions and alerts the operator to issues encountered during grinding as well as errors are tracked and logged within the control to help identify problems. The 9000 series can be networked and/or monitored via the Internet and can be equipped with a remote connect feature allowing direct communication with Unison.
