Compact waterjet cutter
Kent, Washington – OMAX Corp.’s ProtoMAX abrasive waterjet is a compact, self-installed cutting system suited for prototyping and low-volume cutting of material under 2" thick. The ProtoMAX offers the versatility of large abrasive waterjet cutters in a package that fits small job shops and is useful for large shops and fabricators that need occasional waterjet capabilities to complement their other cutting systems.
The ProtoMAX delivers 30,000psi cutting power with a 5hp pump and can precision-cut metals, composites, glass, granite, plastic, and wood 12" x 12", up to 2" thick. The ProtoMAX cuts with no heat-affected zone and no change to the material properties. The waterjet plugs into a 240V AC dryer-style outlet and does not require any hardwiring. The pump and cutting table are on casters for easy relocation. Work material is submerged under water for clean, quiet cutting that won’t disrupt a shared work space.
Programming of part files and cutting are controlled by Intelli-MAX software, featuring many of the same popular CAD/CAM software features used in Omax industrial waterjet systems. The user interface is simple and straightforward, making it a suitable learning tool for computer-aided manufacturing.
