High data-rate camera
Ahrensburg, Germany – The boost is Basler’s first camera with a CoaXPress 2.0 interface that offers its users a high bandwidth for data transmissions. New CMOS sensors combined with the latest frame grabber technology make it easy to quickly transfer large data volumes across great distances.
The camera delivers high resolutions and high frame rates with a cable length up to 40m. Basler also offers a combination of camera and matching interface card from a single source in the Basler boost bundle.
Due to the upcoming CoaXPress 2.0 (CXP 2.0) standard, the Basler boost cameras achieve a maximum bandwidth of up to 12.5Gbps with a single CXP cable. The precise triggering with the CXP cable eliminates the need for a separate I/O cable, making a single-cable solution possible in combination with power-over-CXP (PoCXP), reducing costs.
Basler combines this advancement in interface technology with an optional Sony IMX253 or IMX255 CMOS sensor to deliver resolutions of 12MP or 9MP respectively with maximum frame rates of 68fps or 93fps.
CXP 2.0 requires an appropriate interface card in the PC to prevent the processor (CPU) from being blocked by the image data transfer so that it can be fully available for the image processing application. The proprietary Basler CXP-12 interface card and Basler boost camera form the Basler boost bundle for an image capture solution from one source. Basler’s pylon Camera Software Suite addresses the camera as well as the interface card, making it easier to integrate the application.
The compact Basler boost is 80mm x 80mm x 45mm and includes a digital input along with two GPIO ports. Image optimization PGI is also available in this camera. Basler is presenting the product at the Hannover Messe in Germany and the Automate in Chicago, United States.
