Hannover, Germany – Ottobock will showcase the Paexo exoskeleton at the 2019 HANNOVER MESSE trade fair, taking place April 1-5. Paexo is a lightweight, passive exoskeleton that does not require an energy supply. All booth visitors will have an opportunity to test the exoskeleton themselves during the show.
Ottobock's exoskeletons are developed to provide relief for people who perform physically demanding tasks such as overhead work, thereby creating healthier working conditions.
We had a chance to sit down with Gesa Liss, Ottobock’s public relations manager, to discuss some of the latest innovations and highlight why HANNOVER MESSE 2019 will be a must-see event for attendees and exhibitors.
GIE MFG: Why attend HANNOVER MESSE 2019?
Gesa Liss: With approximately 6,500 exhibitors and 1,400 events, HANNOVER MESSE offers incredible networking and inspiration opportunities – beyond your own industry. At the Ottobock booth, for example, you can see how exoskeletons can significantly reduce physical strain during work, especially overhead activities, relevant to many industries such as automobile, aviation, and building trade. Test our bionic exoskeleton Paexo yourself to experience the relief live at our booth, e.g. doing cable harness assembly on a car or overhead riveting or painting.
GIE MFG: What can people learn about the future of manufacturing technology?
GL: Industrial enterprises are facing special challenges in view of demographic developments. The rising life expectancy and decreasing birth rate are leading to an aging workforce and a lack of workers. This results in an increased demand for technical solutions that help people protect their health over the long term as they carry out their everyday working routines. Ottobock Industrials develops precisely such innovative devices for an ergonomic workplace. Our bionic exoskeleton is based on bio-mechanical principles, developed with our deep understanding of natural human movements.
GIE MFG: How can I arrange a meeting with your company at HANNOVER MESSE 2019?
GL: Please visit our booth G18/1 in hall 17 and meet Dr Roessing, Head of Ottobock Industrials. To arrange meetings beforehand, please write us an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
GIE MFG: What does your company hope to accomplish at HANNOVER MESSE 2019?GL: We hope to enthuse industrial engineers with our latest developments. We will be launching the smallest exoskeleton in the world at the HANNOVER MESSE!
